2. Nature of Our Service
Career Unified is an independent third-party platform designed to help users discover job opportunities, bursaries, universities, and career-related resources. Our services may include account features, CV creation and import tools, ATS-readiness analytics, AI-assisted CV tailoring and cover letters, interview preparation, career guides, the Z83 Filler, recruiter tools, and paid subscription features.
We do not employ users, offer jobs directly, award bursaries, or represent employers, institutions, funding bodies, the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), or any government department.
3. Third-Party Disclaimer
Career Unified acts solely as an information-sharing platform. All job listings, bursaries, and opportunities displayed originate from third parties. Guides and career resources may summarise information from official or reputable sources, but the original source remains authoritative.
We are not responsible for:
- The accuracy or completeness of listings
- Decisions made by employers or institutions
- Losses or disputes arising from applications
- Fraudulent or misleading third-party listings
Users must verify information, reference numbers, eligibility requirements, closing dates, forms, and submission instructions with the relevant employer, institution, government department, or official source before applying.
3.1 Third-Party Advertising
Career Unified may display advertisements supplied by Google AdSense and approved advertising partners on selected public content pages. Advertising helps support free access to Career Unified content. The presence of an advertisement does not mean that Career Unified endorses, recommends, or guarantees the advertiser, product, service, offer, or claim shown in that advertisement.
Advertisements may be selected contextually or, depending on applicable requirements and user settings, personalised by the advertising provider. Ad availability, format, and placement may change. When you select an advertisement, you may be taken to a third-party website governed by that party's own terms and privacy practices. Please review external offers carefully before providing information or making a payment.
4. User Responsibility
By using Career Unified, you acknowledge that all applications and interactions with third parties are done at your own discretion and risk.
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of information entered into CVs, cover letters, Z83 forms, recruiter profiles, applications, and AI tools. You must review generated documents before downloading, signing, submitting, or relying on them, and you must not use Career Unified to create false qualifications, experience, achievements, references, or declarations.
5. No Guarantees
Career Unified does not guarantee employment, acceptance, funding approval, or successful outcomes of any application.
ATS scores and feedback are estimates produced by Career Unified's own assessment method. They are guidance only and do not represent the score, ranking, or decision of any employer's applicant tracking system. AI-generated CV edits, cover letters, suggestions, and imported content may contain errors and must be checked by the user.
The Z83 Filler and Z83 guides are independent assistance tools and are not official government services. Users remain responsible for using the current official form, checking the relevant vacancy instructions, and confirming that the completed form is accurate before submission.
6. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Career Unified provides digital services. Depending on what you use on the platform, this may include premium features, subscriptions, AI-powered tools (such as the AI Tailor), job postings, CV access features, or other paid functionality.
Subscription payments are processed securely through PayFast. CV tool subscriptions are recurring monthly services at the price displayed before checkout. By completing a recurring checkout, you authorise PayFast to process future monthly payments until the subscription is cancelled.
Due to the nature of digital services, once a paid service has been accessed, activated, generated, or used, it is generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
6.1 AI Tailor Feature
The AI Tailor provides AI-generated suggestions and content based on information you provide. Outputs are automated and may require your review and editing. Career Unified does not guarantee that AI-generated outputs will lead to employment, interviews, or successful outcomes.
Payments made for AI Tailor usage, credits, or access are non-refundable once the service has been used (for example, once a successful output is generated and the applicable use or credit is counted), except where a refund is required by applicable law.
6.2 Subscription Cancellations
Subscription cancellations are handled by the Career Unified team. To request cancellation, users must submit the official Contact Us form or email contact@careerunified.com using the email address linked to their account. We may request reasonable information to verify the account before processing the cancellation through PayFast.
A cancellation is complete only once Career Unified sends confirmation. Users should submit requests before the next billing date to allow time for processing. Cancellation prevents future recurring payments after it has been processed, but does not automatically entitle the user to a refund for a payment already completed. Paid benefits may be removed when the cancellation becomes effective.
6.3 Failed or Missed Subscription Payments
Paid access depends on a successful payment for the current subscription period. If a recurring payment is cancelled, declined, reversed, overdue, or otherwise not completed, the subscription may be marked cancelled, inactive, or past due and paid benefits may be suspended or removed. A previous payment does not provide permanent access to subscription features.
6.4 Refund Requests (Limited Circumstances)
Refunds will only be considered under limited circumstances such as:
- Duplicate charges caused by a technical error
- Incorrect billing attributable to Career Unified
- Failure of a paid service to function as described where no meaningful access was provided
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction date and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
6.5 Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
A chargeback occurs when a user asks their bank or card provider to reverse a payment. Users agree to contact Career Unified first to resolve billing concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.
Unresolved or unjustified chargebacks may result in account suspension or termination, revocation of access to paid services, and restriction from future use of the platform.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Career Unified. This includes attempting to disrupt the platform, scraping content, using bots or automated systems without permission, abusing AI tools, exceeding or evading rate limits, sharing access improperly, or attempting to bypass authentication, subscription limits, security, or payment systems.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where misuse is detected.
8. User Submitted Content
Career Unified may allow users to submit career-related content, including interview questions, interview experiences, preparation tips, feedback, reports, comments, or similar contributions.
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- The content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- You have the right to submit the content
- The content does not include confidential company information, private documents, trade secrets, or personal information about other people
- The content is not defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, misleading, unlawful, or harmful
You remain responsible for anything you submit. Career Unified does not verify every user submission and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, usefulness, or availability of user-submitted content.
Where a user chooses to submit content anonymously, Career Unified may display the contribution as "Anonymous". Anonymous display does not create a right to misuse the platform or submit unlawful or harmful content.
9. Moderation, Reports & Removal
Career Unified reserves the right, but is not obligated, to review, edit, refuse, hide, remove, or moderate user-submitted content at any time and at our discretion.
Users may report content that appears inaccurate, harmful, abusive, confidential, or otherwise inappropriate. A report does not guarantee removal, but it helps us review the content and improve platform safety.
Career Unified is not responsible for losses, decisions, reputational harm, or disputes arising from reliance on user-submitted interview questions, preparation tips, reports, ratings, or feedback.
10. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, branding, and functionality (including AI tools and systems) are owned by Career Unified or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or exploit any part of the platform without prior written permission.
By submitting content to Career Unified, you grant Career Unified a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to host, display, reproduce, edit, moderate, organise, and use that content for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the platform.
11. Account Suspension & Termination
Career Unified reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraud, misused the platform, or initiated unjustified payment disputes. Where termination occurs due to breach or misuse, refunds are not provided.
Stopping use of the platform, logging out, or requesting account deletion does not by itself cancel a recurring PayFast subscription. Users must follow the cancellation process in section 6.2 to stop future subscription billing.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Career Unified shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this platform.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect legal, technical, pricing, or operational changes. The latest version and update date will be published on this page. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
