As part of its commitment to developing talent, Zimmer Biomet is offering an opportunity for a Warehouse Intern to gain practical experience within its Supply Chain and warehouse operations.
About the Role
The Warehouse Intern will support the day to day operations of the warehouse. The role involves receiving and booking stock, picking and packing orders, conducting inventory counts and ensuring customer and branch orders are processed and dispatched efficiently.
The successful candidate will gain practical exposure to warehouse processes, inventory management, SAP, health and safety procedures and standard operating procedures within a professional supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for supporting the booking in of incoming stock and ensuring that stock outgoings are processed daily according to established warehouse procedures.
The role will involve picking and packing customer and branch orders and ensuring that orders are prepared and shipped within the required timeframes.
The intern will assist with regular stock counts and inventory activities while maintaining accurate paperwork and documentation where required.
The successful candidate will use SAP as part of the warehouse processes and will be expected to comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Maintaining good housekeeping and ensuring that the warehouse remains organised and safe will also form an important part of the role.
The intern will work as part of a team and must consistently comply with health and safety requirements. The position involves manual handling and working in a physically demanding warehouse environment.
The successful candidate must be willing to work shifts, including day and night shifts, weekends and overtime, when required.
Requirements
Applicants must have a Matric certificate, which is essential for the position.
A qualification or studies in Supply Chain Management will be advantageous.
Candidates should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and work effectively within a team.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures will be beneficial. Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not necessarily required.
Applicants must also hold a valid South African driver's licence, as required by Zimmer Biomet.

The ideal candidate should be reliable, organised and able to follow established processes and instructions.
Attention to detail is important when handling stock, processing orders and conducting inventory counts. Candidates should also demonstrate good communication, teamwork, accountability and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
