The Foschini Group (TFG) is inviting applications for its Intern: Allocator position within the Foschini brand in the Western Cape. This opportunity is suitable for candidates interested in retail management, merchandise planning, stock management and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will support the Merchandise Planning and Allocation teams with stock allocation, replenishment, reporting and administrative activities. This internship provides an opportunity to develop practical skills in analysing sales information, monitoring inventory and understanding retail merchandise operations. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist with implementing merchandise strategies through stock allocation and replenishment activities. Responsibilities will include monitoring stock levels and merchandise movement across stores, analysing sales and stock performance data, and helping identify stock requirements and trends. The intern will communicate with stores, suppliers and the Distribution Centre regarding stock availability, deliveries and queries. They will also track deliveries, follow up on delays or discrepancies, identify stock-related issues and help maintain accurate allocation records. Additional duties will include preparing reports and providing administrative and operational support to the Merchandise Planning and Allocation teams. Minimum Requirements Applicants should meet the following requirements: A relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Previous exposure to a retail or stock management environment will be an advantage. Required Skills and Competencies Candidates should demonstrate good numerical and analytical skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Good organisational and time management skills are important, along with basic computer literacy, problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team. Applicants should also be willing to learn and develop their understanding of retail merchandise planning and allocation.
