About the Teacher Intern Opportunity ADvTECH is inviting applications from suitable students for the Teacher Intern: Senior Primary opportunity at Elkanah House in Cape Town. The programme is designed for students who are currently studying towards a relevant teaching degree and want to gain practical classroom experience while completing their qualification. Teacher Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge gained through their studies in a real school environment while working under the supervision and guidance of experienced teaching professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers to develop their classroom skills, gain exposure to the day to day responsibilities of teaching and build their professional experience before graduating. What the Programme Offers Successful Teacher Interns will receive a monthly stipend, subject to the applicable programme criteria, to assist with expenses such as transport and tuition fees. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a structured coaching and mentorship programme designed to support their professional and personal development. The programme provides valuable practical teaching experience under supervision, allowing interns to develop their confidence and classroom skills while learning from experienced educators. Key Learning and Development Opportunities The Teacher Intern Programme will provide exposure to the practical aspects of working within a school environment. Interns will have the opportunity to gain experience applying teaching knowledge in the classroom and working with learners in the Senior Primary phase. Through supervision, coaching and mentorship, interns can develop their understanding of effective teaching practices and the responsibilities associated with working as an educator. Future Opportunities Teacher Interns who successfully complete the programme may be eligible for consideration for placement at one of the schools within the ADvTECH group after graduation, should a suitable teaching position become available. Completion of the internship does not guarantee permanent employment, as placement will depend on available opportunities and the relevant requirements at the time. Minimum Requirements Applicants must have completed Matric. Candidates must currently be registered for a relevant Teaching degree. Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their current teaching studies where required. Candidates must also be able to successfully complete the required criminal checks. Who Should Apply?
