About the Opportunity
Takealot Group is inviting applications for a People/HR Intern to join its People/HR team in Johannesburg.
The internship programme will provide exposure across the Takealot Group businesses, including takealot.com, TFS and Mr D.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have completed N6 in Human Resources or a similar qualification and want to gain practical experience in HR operations within a fast growing e-commerce environment.
Purpose of the Role
The People/HR Intern will support the HR Operations team with day to day administrative and operational activities.
The role will provide practical exposure to HR operations, HR functions and HR systems while helping the team with employee administration and People related activities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Grade 12 certificate
Completed N6 in Human Resources or a similar qualification
Technical Skills
Applicants should have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong data capturing and administration skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of applicable legislation, including BCEA, LRA, EEA and SDA
Understanding of HR functions such as recruitment, training, benefits and labour relations
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to handle confidential information

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with:
Filing and document management
Scanning documents
HR administration
Preparing HR documents and labour broker change forms
Managing the onboarding process
Supporting HR and business teams with employee queries
HR systems administration
Working with systems including Axio, Intranet, The Hub and Greenhouse
Payroll administration
Processing UI-19 documentation
Preparing confirmations of employment
Assisting with IRP5 related administration
HR communication, including new starter emails
Assisting with CCMA cases
Supporting HR projects
Providing general operational support to the HR team
Internship Programme
The Takealot Group Internship Programme is designed to help interns develop both technical and soft skills while gaining practical workplace experience.
Interns will gain exposure to the e-commerce environment and work alongside experienced professionals while developing skills across a range of HR and business functions.
