The three year CA Trainee programme is designed to provide graduates and aspiring Chartered Accountants with hands on experience across accounting, auditing, taxation, financial analysis and client services. About the SAICA Training Contract
The SNG Grant Thornton SAICA Training Contract is designed for individuals who want to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant and gain the practical experience required as part of their professional development.
Successful CA Trainees will work alongside experienced accounting professionals and gain exposure to a range of accounting and auditing activities. The programme combines practical workplace experience with training and professional development to help trainees build the technical and professional competencies required for a career in the accounting profession.
Key Responsibilities
As a CA Trainee, you will assist senior accountants with day to day accounting activities and contribute to the preparation of financial statements and financial reports.
The role will provide exposure to auditing and financial analysis, allowing trainees to develop their understanding of financial reporting and assurance processes.
Trainees may also assist with tax preparation and tax compliance activities while gaining practical knowledge of relevant accounting and taxation requirements.
The programme will provide opportunities to participate in client meetings and presentations, helping trainees develop professional communication and client relationship skills.
Trainees will also attend training sessions and workshops designed to strengthen their technical accounting knowledge and professional capabilities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Candidates should be enrolled in a recognised CA programme or be preparing to sit for the relevant Chartered Accountant examinations.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required, together with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Applicants should be able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software will be advantageous.
