Parexel is inviting applications from ambitious recent graduates and qualifying students for its 12 month Clinical Data Engineer Internship in Bloemfontein. The internship is designed to give participants meaningful professional experience, structured learning, mentorship and exposure to real projects. It provides an opportunity to develop technical and professional skills while contributing to work that supports clinical development and ultimately helps improve patient health. The successful intern will work under close supervision and support activities involving electronic data and the application of computer and communication technologies within clinical data engineering. Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Data Engineer Intern, you will gain exposure to a range of activities related to clinical and electronic data, including: Programming offline listings and custom reports to provide better insights into external data. Performing trend analysis, data review, data ingestion and reconciliation of third party data. Working with raw data files and identifying and handling missing values. Creating and managing data structures. Identifying and resolving programming errors. Accessing and managing data. Appending and concatenating SAS datasets. Supporting the delivery of high quality work and being accountable for first time quality on deliverables. Maintaining supporting study documentation in accordance with relevant SOPs, guidelines and work instructions. Documenting deviations and communicating them to relevant project team members. Working collaboratively with global teams. All activities must be performed in accordance with Parexel's corporate quality standards, SOPs, Work Instructions and Guidelines, as well as ICH-GCP and other applicable international regulatory requirements. Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet the following academic requirements: Be a final year undergraduate student or an Honours degree student.
