About the Opportunity The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) is inviting applications for a Registrar’s Clerk position at the Division of the High Court in Pretoria. This is a valuable opportunity for Grade 12 applicants with no previous work experience who are interested in starting a career in the public service and gaining experience in court administration, registry processes, case management and records administration. Minimum Requirements Applicants must: Have a Grade 12 Certificate No previous experience is required A valid driver's licence will be an added advantage Be able to work independently and as part of a team Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Knowledge and Skills Candidates should have: Knowledge of working procedures within the relevant working environment Knowledge of registry processes and practices Knowledge of storage and retrieval procedures Understanding of legislative frameworks governing the Public Service Knowledge of filing systems and mail procedures Understanding of the Promotion of Access to Information Act and National Archives requirements Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles Good written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal skills Computer literacy Problem-solving and analytical skills Numerical skills Good time management and administrative skills Attention to detail Flexibility and self-motivation Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Registering and allocating case numbers to pleadings and court documents received Ensuring that files are served on all relevant parties Preparing files for litigants and attorneys Updating files with returns of service and proof of service Safekeeping and disposing of case records in accordance with applicable procedures Retrieving requested files and making them available to authorised requesters Responding to queries from parties and members of the public Recording documents received Ensuring the systematic recording and management of court files Keeping records of requests received from litigants Attending to case management and set-down notices Implementing case management practices Placing request forms in the appropriate space when files are requested Completing and filing movement sheets Monitoring files and records in line with case management requirements Maintaining registers for filing and archiving Submitting leave forms to HR for compliance Complying with telephone procedures and leave policies Preparing and signing the required performance agreement timeously Position Details Post: Registrar’s Clerk Reference Number: 2026/80/OCJ Centre: Division of the High Court, Pretoria Salary Level: Level 05 Salary: R237 453 – R279 708 per annum The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.
