About the Opportunity The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is inviting applications for a Finance Clerk position within the National Prosecutions Services at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in Mpumalanga. This opportunity is suitable for Grade 12 applicants interested in finance, accounting and government administration. The successful candidate will assist with financial accounting activities, creditor payments, employee claims, petty cash, expenditure reporting and other finance-related administrative duties. Minimum Requirements Applicants must: Have a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification Have basic numeracy skills Be able to work independently without constant supervision Have good verbal and written communication skills Have good planning and organising skills Have good analytical skills Have general computer literacy Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of the following will be required: Financial Accounting Processing creditor payments Processing employee allowances, including cellphone and S&T claims Public Finance PERSAL, BAS and LOGIS Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Financial policies and procedures Applicants should demonstrate the ability to act independently, professionally, accountably and with credibility. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Processing payments for service providers Providing support to Financial Accounting Managing the payment register Receiving and checking claims and invoices Submitting claims and invoices to the Director: Administration for approval Capturing S&T and cellphone claims on PERSAL and BAS Administering petty cash for the office Submitting certified payroll to Head Office monthly Tracking creditor payments on the tracking system Distributing finance-related policies and circulars to officials Adhering to financial policies and procedures Liaising with customers and suppliers Verifying availability of funds Recommending approval of expenditure Assisting with the compilation of the regional budget Printing and distributing expenditure reports to relevant managers Position Details Post: Finance Clerk Reference Number: RECRUIT 2026/251 Branch: National Prosecutions Services Centre: DPP: Mpumalanga Salary Level: Level 05 Salary: R237 453 per annum, excluding benefits How to Apply Applications must be submitted via email: Email: Recruit2026251@npa.gov.za Applicants must submit: The latest Z83 Application for Employment Form A comprehensive CV with detailed experience information The latest Z83 form is available from any Public Service Department or through the DPSA website.
