About the Internship The Operations Management Intern will support the SSA Region operations team in executing day to day operational activities and improving business performance. The role provides hands on experience in operational management, reporting, project coordination, Lean practices, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Operations Management and Reporting You will support daily management sessions and Monthly Operating Reviews by preparing relevant materials, tracking action items, and documenting meeting outcomes. You will monitor and report on regional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). You will also support the development and maintenance of operational dashboards, reporting tools, and performance tracking processes. Project Coordination You will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of operational projects and initiatives. This will involve working with internal teams to support project activities, track progress, and contribute to the achievement of operational objectives. You will prepare reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and leadership updates to support communication and decision making. Data Analysis and Problem Solving You will analyse operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement. You will also assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem solving relating to operational performance issues. The role provides exposure to identifying challenges, investigating possible causes, and supporting solutions that improve operational performance. Continuous Improvement You will participate in Lean and Kaizen events and support continuous improvement activities. You will contribute to initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency, reducing inefficiencies, and strengthening business processes. You will also support efforts to reduce manual reporting and improve the effectiveness of operational systems and tools. Systems and Administrative Support You will assist with system related administrative activities, issue logging, basic troubleshooting, and operational reporting processes. Exposure to business systems and digital tools will help you develop practical experience in managing operational information and supporting internal processes. Cross Functional Collaboration You will collaborate with internal stakeholders across different business areas, including Sales, Commercial Operations, Parts Fulfilment, Quality, Procurement, and Project teams. This will provide exposure to how different departments work together to support operational performance and business delivery. Minimum Qualifications Applicants should have recently completed a degree in one of the following fields: Engineering Business Operations Supply Chain Management Information Systems Business Administration A related field may also be considered. Required Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with project planning or reporting tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar platforms would be an advantage. Exposure to dashboards, business systems, and operational reporting is beneficial. Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems would also be useful. Basic knowledge of ticketing systems, SQL, VBA, or PowerShell would be an advantage, although the job description does not state these as mandatory requirements.
