About the Role Bayobab is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Trainee to join its Finance team. The successful candidate will support the Financial Operations function, including Procurement and Accounts Payable, while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or candidate with up to two years of relevant experience who is looking to build a career in finance. Key Responsibilities As a Finance Trainee, you will: Support the day-to-day coordination and administration of finance and risk-related processes. Assist with Procurement and Accounts Payable activities. Support the Control Self Assessment (CSA) process, including documentation, evidence collection and tracking. Prepare reports, progress updates and documentation for management and decision-making. Assist with project coordination and strategic or transformation initiatives. Research, create and edit presentations in line with MTN corporate communication standards. Collate information for internal reporting, senior management and cross-functional teams. Follow up with stakeholders to ensure information is submitted accurately and on time. Assist with the development and maintenance of knowledge bases, governance documentation and business presentations. Support coordination and administration tasks within the department. Help identify risks and support the implementation of appropriate controls. Escalate significant issues that may impact timelines, costs, resources or project delivery. Contribute to improving processes and service delivery across the business. Requirements Education BCom in Finance, Finance Diploma or a related qualification. Experience 0–2 years of relevant work experience, including student or internship experience. Skills and Competencies Strong administrative and organisational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Good information processing and problem-solving abilities. Strong time management and prioritisation skills. Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines. Good interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to resolve queries and make sound decisions within established procedures. Negotiation and stakeholder management skills. High emotional intelligence and cultural awareness. Responsive, flexible, agile and action-oriented. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s licence and own transport. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, matrix-managed environment. Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally when required.
