About the Opportunity Discovery Institute of Training is offering a Wealth Management Learnership for young South Africans looking to build a career in the financial services industry. The programme combines structured learning with practical workplace experience and leads to a nationally recognised NC: Wealth Management NQF Level 5 qualification. Learners will gain exposure to financial planning, wealth management, financial products, market trends, regulatory developments and the development of training solutions for financial advisers. Key Responsibilities The successful learner will support financial planning and learning and development specialists with reviewing and developing training materials designed to improve the knowledge and skills of financial advisers. The role will involve conducting research into financial products, market trends and regulatory changes to ensure that training content remains accurate and relevant. You will also assist with gathering and analysing information for training materials, case studies and scenario planning exercises, while preparing reports and summaries that support the development of learning content. Additional responsibilities include maintaining training resources and databases, collecting feedback from training participants, contributing ideas during brainstorming sessions and keeping up to date with developments in financial advising and wealth management. Learners will also participate in professional development activities and receive guidance and mentorship from experienced Certified Financial Planners and learning and development professionals. Requirements Applicants must have completed Grade 12. Applicants must have achieved at least 50% in Mathematics, equivalent to Level 4. Applicants with Mathematics Literacy must have achieved at least 60%, equivalent to Level 5. Applicants must have achieved at least 50% in English, equivalent to Level 4. A second language at Level 4 with a minimum of 50% is also required. An incomplete tertiary qualification in a financial field will be advantageous. Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old. Applicants must be South African citizens by birth. Applicants must not currently be engaged in post Matric studies or formal employment. Applicants must not have completed a previous learnership. Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook, are required. Skills and Personal Attributes The ideal candidate should have strong research, analytical and problem solving abilities, together with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are important, as the role involves working with training materials and communicating financial information clearly. Candidates should be organised, systematic and able to manage their time effectively. The ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure and operate both independently and as part of a team is also important.
