About the Opportunity Abbott Core Diagnostics is looking for a Clinical Application Specialist Intern to join its team in Johannesburg. This internship is designed for recent graduates who want to gain practical experience in healthcare technology, medical diagnostics and technical customer support. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced Technical Application Specialists and Field Service Engineers. You will gain exposure to diagnostic laboratory environments while developing your technical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities and customer service skills. The opportunity provides practical exposure to diagnostic instruments, customer training, technical support, installations, troubleshooting and product related queries. What You Will Learn The successful intern will receive practical exposure to supporting instrument installations, validations and verification activities. You will assist with customer training and user support activities while learning how to communicate technical information effectively to customers. The internship will help you develop technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills while gaining practical knowledge of diagnostic laboratory environments. You will assist customers with product related queries and provide technical support under the guidance of experienced team members. You will collaborate with Technical Application Specialists, Field Service Engineers and commercial teams to support customers and diagnostic systems. The role will also provide exposure to analysing instrument performance and identifying opportunities for improvement. You may participate in technical workshops, coaching sessions and other development activities designed to strengthen your technical capabilities. You will also gain experience in technical report writing, documentation and professional communication. Throughout the internship, you will develop knowledge of Abbott's diagnostic systems and healthcare technologies. Minimum Requirements Applicants must have completed a National Diploma or an Honours Degree in one of the following fields: Medical Technology Biomedical Sciences Medical Sciences A related qualification The qualification must be fully completed. Applicants who are currently studying towards the qualification are not eligible. Applicants must have no formal work experience and must not currently be employed. Previous In Service Training or Work Integrated Learning experience will be advantageous. Candidates should have a strong interest in healthcare technology, medical diagnostics and technical support. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, together with good analytical and problem solving abilities. A valid South African driver's licence is essential for the position. Reliable daily access to a vehicle is preferred. Applicants must be based in Gauteng and willing to travel within surrounding areas when required. Successful candidates must be available to start immediately. Who Should Apply?
