Pick n Pay is looking for an accurate, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join their team in Durban North. In this role, you will be responsible for handling customer transactions through the POS system, managing till floats, balancing cash at the end of shifts, and delivering excellent customer service on the retail floor. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage the daily cash float. Operate the till and scanning system accurately and efficiently during checkout. Receive and process cash, card, and other accepted payment methods. Process customer returns, refunds, and exchanges in line with company procedures. Promote and upsell selected products and services at the point of sale. Maintain clean, orderly, and hygienic working and checkout areas. Minimize product wastage, shrinkage, and stock damage. Adhere strictly to store security and safety procedures. Handle equipment according to operational standards and keep checkout areas maintained. Basic computer literacy (advantageous). Fluency in English with strong verbal communication skills. Strong basic numeracy skills for processing cash and giving change. Ability to follow operational and execution instructions accurately. Strong customer orientation with a friendly and ethical work ethic. Good time management skills and flexibility to work retail operational hours.
