What Does the VKB Engineering Bursary Offer?
The VKB Group Bursary supports students pursuing BEng or BSc Engineering, specialising in Mechanical Engineering.
The opportunity is open to both Grade 12 learners planning to begin their studies in 2027 and current tertiary students already studying towards the relevant engineering qualification.
Successful applicants may also have the opportunity to gain practical workplace exposure through vacation work at one of VKB's regional head offices.
Applicants should be willing to relocate after completing their studies if required, as there may be potential employment opportunities or work-back obligations.
Who Can Apply?
Grade 12 Applicants
Applicants must:
Have a valid South African ID.
Have a National Senior Certificate with a minimum 70% average.
Submit their latest Grade 11 results and current Grade 12 results.
Plan to study BEng or BSc Engineering, specialising in Mechanical Engineering, from January 2027.
Current Tertiary Students
Applicants must:
Be enrolled at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
Achieve a minimum 60% average in major subjects.
Submit a full academic record, including 2026 results.
Be studying towards the relevant engineering qualification.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must:
Be willing to complete vacation work at one of VKB's regional head offices.
Be willing to relocate after completing their studies for potential employment or work-back obligations.
Be fluent in both spoken and written English and Afrikaans.

Grade 12 applicants should submit their latest Grade 11 and current Grade 12 results, while current tertiary students must provide their full academic record, including 2026 results.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and VKB Group reserves the right not to award a bursary.
