The Western Cape Government is inviting applications for the Masakh'iSizwe (MiS) Bursary Programme 2027. The programme was established to address critical skills shortages while empowering young South Africans to obtain qualifications in engineering, transport, and built environment fields.
Fields of Study Funded:
• Civil Engineering
• Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Construction Management
• Quantity Surveying
• Architecture
• Property Studies
• Geomatics
• Town and Regional Planning
• Transport Economics
• Transportation Engineering
• Mechatronics
• Other built environment and scarce skills disciplines approved by the Department of Infrastructure.
Who Can Apply?
• South African citizens
• Learners accepted or intending to study at a Higher Education Institution in the Western Cape
• Students pursuing approved engineering, transport, or built environment qualifications
• Preference will be given to financially disadvantaged applicants, women, persons with disabilities, and learners from rural communities.

• Applications must be submitted online.
• Successful applicants will receive both financial and developmental support throughout their studies.
