About the Eskom Bursary Eskom is inviting ambitious and talented South African students to apply for its Non Technical Degree Bursary Programme for the 2027 intake. The bursary is aimed at students who are interested in pursuing non technical qualifications that can contribute to the energy sector and South Africa's future development. The opportunity is specifically available to current matriculants and students who matriculated in 2025 who will be starting their first year of tertiary studies in 2027. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to pursue an approved Bachelor's degree at a recognised public university in South Africa. Fields of Study Eskom is offering bursary opportunities for students studying towards Bachelor's degrees in the following fields: Land Surveying, Geographic Information Systems, Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental and Water Science, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting Science, Economics and Econometrics, Industrial Relations, Industrial Psychology, Psychology, Social Sciences, Human Resources, Financial Management, Law, Logistics, Quantity Surveying, Information Systems, Geomatics, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Safety Management, Nursing and Radiology. The bursary opportunities are available across various Eskom departments. Important: Diploma qualifications will not be considered. Minimum Requirements Applicants must be South African citizens. Applicants must have either their Grade 11 final results or a Grade 12 Certificate. Applicants must intend to study an approved Bachelor's degree in one of the specified fields at a recognised public university in South Africa. Conditional acceptance from a university to study an applicable degree may be required if available. Applicants should not currently be holding another bursary. Grade 11 Applicants Grade 11 year end results will be considered during the selection process. However, the final decision will depend on the applicant's 2026 Matric results. Applicants who are currently in Grade 12 should therefore ensure that they maintain strong academic performance throughout their matric year. Selection Process Applicants may be required to undergo a psychometric assessment as part of the selection process. Selection will consider academic results and whether the applicant meets the requirements for admission into an applicable Bachelor's degree programme at a recognised public South African university. Important Information The opportunity is intended for students who will begin their first year of university in 2027. Applicants should carefully check that their intended qualification is included in Eskom's approved fields of study before submitting their application.
