AGSA Bursary 2027 The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) offers bursaries to South African students pursuing a Chartered Accountancy (CA(SA)) career. The bursary provides financial support for eligible students studying at a SAICA-accredited South African university. What Does the Bursary Cover? The AGSA bursary covers: Tuition fees University accommodation Meals Books Successful bursary recipients are also required to enter into a training contract/serve articles with AGSA after completing their studies, in accordance with the bursary agreement. Who Can Apply? Applicants must: Be a South African citizen. Be studying or intending to study towards Chartered Accountancy. Study full-time at a SAICA-accredited university. Be enrolled in an eligible qualification such as: BCom Accounting – CA Stream Bachelor of Accounting – CA Stream BCompt Meet the academic requirements for their current study level. Academic Requirements Grade 12 / First Year You must: Have matric exemption with university entrance. Achieve at least 60% in English. Achieve at least 60% in Mathematics. Mathematics Literacy is not accepted. First Year → Second Year You must: Achieve more than 60% in Financial Accounting. Have at least 60% in Mathematics and English in Matric. Be pursuing the CA programme. Second Year → Third Year You must: Achieve more than 60% in Financial Accounting. Achieve more than 60% in Management Accounting. Be pursuing the CA programme. Final Year → CTA You must: Achieve at least 55% in all core modules. Have acceptance into a CTA programme. Documents Required Depending on your study level, you may need: South African ID Grade 11 results Matric results Grade 12 mid-year results University acceptance letter Academic record CTA acceptance letter Documents should be uploaded in PDF format and should not exceed 2 MB. How to Apply Check that you meet the requirements. Prepare your supporting documents. Create/register your profile on the AGSA recruitment platform. Complete the bursary application. Upload your documents. Submit your application before the closing date.
