Coronation Exceptional Student Bursary 2027 The Coronation Exceptional Student Bursary is aimed at exceptional, well-rounded students who are passionate about building a career in commerce and are committed to achieving academic excellence. The bursary provides an opportunity for talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds to receive financial support while pursuing an undergraduate commerce-related degree. Applicants should demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, good character and a commitment to making a positive contribution to society. The bursary is intended for students who will be studying full-time during the 2027 academic year. Funding is renewable annually and is dependent on academic performance, student engagement and the sponsor's available budget. The exact benefits covered will be confirmed in the final bursary award or pledge letter issued to successful applicants. Successful students may also be required to fulfil a work-back obligation for each year of funding received, should Coronation offer them employment after completing their studies. If the work-back obligation is not fulfilled, the bursary recipient may be required to repay the value of the bursary benefits received, together with interest at the prime lending rate. Applicants must be South African citizens pursuing an undergraduate commerce-related degree at a DHET/CHE registered tertiary institution. The programme may also consider eligible 2026 matric students and students taking a gap year after completing matric in 2025. Preference may be given to students studying fields such as Data Analysis, Information Technology, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science and Software or Computer Engineering, as well as applicants who align with the sponsor's transformation and employment equity objectives. Applicants should have achieved a minimum Grade 12 average of 75%, including Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), or a tertiary academic average of at least 70% based on their latest full academic-year results. The bursary is for full-time studies and is not open to students studying N4/N5/N6, Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Master's or Doctoral qualifications, or students enrolled at TVET colleges, community colleges, private colleges, graduate/business schools, international universities or through distance-learning qualifications such as UNISA. Depending on the stage of the application process, shortlisted candidates may be required to complete screening, interviews and psychometric assessments. Applicants must provide accurate information and submit all required documentation. Any applicant or awardee found to have provided false information, failed to disclose paid employment or is not studying full-time may have their bursary terminated and may be required to repay all benefits received. The Coronation Exceptional Student Bursary will be allocated for the 2027 academic year.
