Learnership Overview
Sasol is inviting applications from motivated and physically fit young individuals to join its Learner Fire Fighter Learnership Programme for 2026. This exciting opportunity is designed to provide practical workplace experience combined with structured theoretical training in firefighting, emergency response, rescue operations, and industrial safety.
Successful candidates will receive hands-on exposure within Sasol's emergency management and fire protection environments while developing the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively in high-risk industrial settings.

Purpose of the Programme
The purpose of the Fire Fighter Learnership Programme is to equip learners with the necessary technical knowledge, practical experience, and workplace readiness skills required to pursue a career in firefighting and emergency services.
Participants will engage in both classroom-based learning and practical on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Successful learners will be expected to:
Participate fully in all learnership activities and training sessions.
Complete all theoretical and practical learning requirements.
Attend workplace readiness programmes and development workshops.
Participate in emergency response simulations and firefighting exercises.
Learn firefighting techniques, rescue procedures, and emergency management practices.
Assist with fire prevention and risk management activities.
Follow all health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and commitment throughout the programme.
Successfully complete all assessments and evaluations.
Work effectively within teams and support emergency response operations when required.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Matric).
Pass in Technical Mathematics, Mathematics, or Mathematical Literacy.
Pass in English or Business English.
Pass in Technical Science or Physical Science.
Valid Code B Driver's Licence or higher.
Must be between 18 and 29 years of age.
Must reside within Sasol's local communities in Secunda or Sasolburg.
Must be medically fit and capable of performing physically demanding tasks.
Must successfully pass all required assessments.
Additional Assessment Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
Pass a Fire Fighter Fitness Assessment.
Pass a Stress and Fear Assessment.
Work comfortably at heights.
Operate in confined spaces.
Be exposed to fire and emergency situations.
Climb cat ladders and elevated structures.
